Power BI for Beginners | Remote Online - UK

Duration:  2 Half Days

Overview: This instructor led-course provides a deep dive into the Power BI Desktop app.  Practice connecting to Microsoft Dataverse and other data sources, using visualizations, filters and slicers, and publishing to the Power BI service.  Use features such as custom visuals, themes, wallpapers, and bookmarks.  Learn how Power BI integrates with Dynamics 365 and Power Apps Model-Driven apps.

Prerequisite:  None for the beginner course

Total course is 8hrs long and broken down into 2 four hour sessions.  Both sessions are required to complete the course

Topics:  Overview of Power BI, Power BI Report creation, Enhancing your Power BI reports, Get Data into Power BI, Power BI & D365 and Data Refresh Scheduling

This course is designed to support individuals who will be responsible for reporting and analytics of not only Dynamics 365 data but other sources such as separate ERP solutions, spreadsheets, and other corporate data. It’s also useful for those interested in improving charts, analytics, and discovering new insights into data.

Technology Requirements

This training requires access to a longterm Internet connection, capable of supporting video streaming for the entire duration of the training.  Attendees will need a Windows or Mac to participate in labs (Note: iPad Pro is not compatible with the labs.  Computers will not be provided.).

PowerObjects recommends laptops and other required devices be plugged in to a power source at the start of training to prevent disruption.  If possible, multiple monitors/screens are recommended.  DISCLAIMER: PowerObjects is not responsible for any disruptions, lack of service, or missed training due to inadequate technology or setup on the customer side.

Environment
Similiar to in-person training, the days can be long.  PowerObjects recommends an ample supply of caffeine and/or trinkets to fidget with to keep yourself active and alert.  PowerObjects also recommends a comfortable seating arrangement, as well as a setup in a location with minimal distractions.  It is also advised to set Skype, etc. to Do Not Distrub mode.
